Bachelor of Laws (LLB)

Programme Overview

The LLB program at Manav Rachna University is a three-year undergraduate course that assists graduates from any stream of study to begin a professional career in the legal profession. With a perfect blend of theoretical education and practical legal training, this program provides a thorough understanding of India's legal system as well as the latest global practices. It is best for students who wish to pursue LLB after graduation and have a serious and meaningful career in law.

Throughout six semesters, the students study diverse subjects such as Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Company Law, Environmental Law, Cyber Law, Intellectual Property Rights, and more. In parallel with academic knowledge, students imbibe critical abilities in legal research, communication, drafting, negotiation, and resolving disputes.

The curriculum is designed to enable the students to sit for the All India Bar Examination (AIB) and practice as advocates before any court of India. The curriculum also aims to prepare students for competitive careers in law at public and private sectors, judiciary services, corporate law firms, research institutions, and NGOs.

The duration of the LLB course is three years, with strong exposure to actual legal situations through internships, moot court competitions, client counselling sessions, legal aid camps, and workshops. With strong industry relationships, excellent faculty, and state-of-the-art infrastructure, Manav Rachna prepares students to face real-world challenges in the legal field.

It offers a strong legal basis to candidates from different streams of studies like commerce, science, humanities, or management.

Even though the course does not come with predetermined specialisations, the students get a good exposure to a diverse set of legal disciplines that enable them to specialise in any area of law. During the course of the study, the students study core subjects including:

  • Constitutional Law
  • Criminal Law
  • Company and Corporate Law
  • International Law
  • Environmental Law
  • Property and Family Law
  • Intellectual Property Rights
  • Cyber Law
  • Artificial Intelligence and Law

This organized diversity exposes the students to rethinking their career choices based on the things that interest them, whether litigation, company law, public policy, human rights, legal journalism, or new fields such as technology and artificial intelligence law.

Moreover, the LLB program places strong focus on clinical legal education, providing students with the chance to engage in legal aid clinics, moot courts, mediation competition, and judgment writing. These form part of students' practice of real skills, building confidence, and gaining special interests as they go through the program.
