Through research, the School of Law contributes to advancement of legal knowledge and legal reforms. Research enhances critical thinking, analytical skills, and problem solving abilities amongst the students, which prepares them for the legal profession as leaders and legal practitioners.
The School of Law at Manav Rachna University focuses on research right from the Undergraduate Courses in the form of Research Paper submissions and assessment in the form of Internal Assessment to inculcate the skills required in researching and writing a Research Paper. The School focuses heavily on research specially at the Post-graduate Level where LL.M. (One year) and LL.M. (Two year) Programmes are research oriented and is preferred by the candidates seeking career in academia.
The Centres of Excellence such as Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR) and Centre for Legislative Studies and Research (CLSR) have been formed to promote research
The faculty as well as the students carry out empirical research on various issues and the same is published in UGC Care list and Scopus Indexed Journals. Various projects have also been submitted to the policy making bodies.
Dr. Neha Singh was the first one to be awarded a PhD Degree by the School of Law on “Reproductive Rights and Abortion Laws in India - An empirical study of Contemporary Issues” followed by Dr. Aditi Chaudhary and Dr. Mohini Sharma on “Climate Change and Disaster Management” and “Development of Law pertaining to Arbitration and its impact on minimising the role of Courts: A Critical Study” in 2023. Dr. Sonia Kinra completed her PhD on “Protection of Child Victim of Sexual Offences – Critical Analysis of relevant laws and procedures”.
