The New Education Policy (NEP) and the National Credit Framework (NCrF) have laid the foundation for a new era in teaching and learning in India.

One of the key initiatives is the implementation of a semester system with a Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS). This allows students to learn at their own pace and register for a lesser or higher number of credits. Learners have the flexibility to choose courses from different areas and departments, encouraging multidisciplinary learning.
Holistic development is also emphasized, with the incorporation of non-technical courses, general education courses, liberal arts courses, and interdisciplinary courses. These courses are designed to develop a person's emotional, social, ethical, and creative potential.
The NEP and NCrF also promote learning by doing, with mandatory summer training that exposes students to real-world situations where they can apply their learning and sharpen their technical expertise. The curriculum emphasizes research and innovation, providing opportunities for students to propose ideas and receive funding to shape them. Students are also given the opportunity to present their innovations in national and international competitions.
The NEP and NCF also encourage the use of modern technology and virtual labs to simulate and build prototypes, providing students with the skills and comfort level needed to navigate the virtual world.

Innovative practices in teaching and learning include coaching and mentoring on personality development, business communication, and aptitude development. Employability assessments are also conducted to enhance the employability prospects of students.

Students are encouraged to participate in activities like Six Sigma, Lean Management, and Process Improvement courses to add professional qualifications to their curriculum vitae.

These initiatives and innovative practices in teaching and learning are designed to equip students with practical skills and knowledge that will help them excel in their future careers.
