Swami Vivekananda Library and Resource Centre specifically caters to the students, faculty, and staff of Manav Rachna University (MRU). The MRU Library network includes the RC Lahoti Memorial Law Library, Faculty of Education Library, and Dr. O. P. Bhalla Learning Lounge. The library offers a user-friendly, air-conditioned environment with a fully computerized open access system. It has an impressive print collection of approximately 51,676 volumes and 12,991 titles, along with 3,17,846 e-books across various disciplines such as engineering, applied science, management, education, and law.

The library subscribes to a diverse range of national and international journals, magazines, periodicals, and newspapers. It is fully automated, integrated with the open-source LMS KOHA, and aims to offer comprehensive, computerized services to the Manav Rachna University community.

Library Rules

  • The Library is open to the Manav Rachna University family. Guest visitors will be allowed for a short duration and with prior approval.
  • For visiting the Library and borrowing books, members should possess a valid Photo-ID card issued by the Manav Rachna University.
  • The library material is non-transferable to another user card.
  • All books borrowed from the Library must be returned within the stipulated due date. Late returning of books will attract a charge of Rs. 5/- per day for general books.
  • Members should report the loss of library books immediately.
  • Lost books will be charged at the latest acquisition cost of the books. Members have the choice to replace the book.
  • Members are required to keep the books borrowed from the Library in good physical condition. Books returned with markings, underlining, or any other physical damage will be charged for replacement cost.
  • Members may please reserve a book which is issued out.
  • All personal belongings/bags should be kept in the bins at the entrance.
  • Digital Library workstations are for academic pursuits only. Any unauthorized usage or damage will attract disciplinary action.
  • Silence, discipline, and order must be maintained at all times in the library.
  • The Library staff may ask any person, who in their opinion, has violated the rules or whose presence is not conducive to the library/study environment, to leave the library premises. Repeated incidences of such behavior shall attract punitive action.
  • Theft and mutilation of library books, damage or defacing the library property, and unacceptable behavior will be construed as serious misconduct and is liable for punitive action by the authorities.
  • The Library is equipped with electronic surveillance equipment (CCTV cameras).
  • The Library is a silence zone; cell phones must be switched off before entering the library. Usage of cell phones and clicking pictures will attract a fine of Rs. 500/- and subsequent stricter action.
  • Please help maintain a conducive academic library environment.

Membership and Borrowing Privileges: The Library is open to MRU family. Here are the borrowing privileges

Books Duration

  • Students: 5 Books for 28 days
  • Faculty: 12 Books for Session
  • Staff: 2 Books for 28 days

Reading Room :- The Library offers reading room facility for general and reference areas. Seperate areas for faculty are also available in the library.


Research and Reference: – A team of dedicated reference librarians offers navigational guidance and support for academic research and support activities. The users can also submit their request through online reference request form.  Alternatively reference request can also be emailed to helpdesk info.library@mru.edu.in

Digital Library Services: MRU Library subscribes online databases for the users. 

Current Awareness / Selective Dissemination of Information: The library offers a bimonthly digest of select articles in various areas of research and academic interest. 

Wi-Fi / Internet: – The entire library floor is Wi-Fi enabled with high speed bandwidth connection speed.

Photocopy and Document Scanning: Facilities are available in the MRU Library

We are committed to offering exceptional library services that foster the development of a dynamic knowledge base, capable of contributing to national progress and societal welfare. Single Window Search solution offers researchers paradise by making all library resources available at a single click. 24×7 availability of library resources beyond campus through remote access provides unhindered access to resources. The library is open from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday to Saturdays, ensuring that we meet the academic and research needs of our users.
