B.A.B.Ed. integrated programme is a four-year integrated programme that aims at integrating general studies in arts and professional studies in education. It provides a wide knowledge base for becoming an elementary and secondary school teacher.

The programme is recognized by the NCTE and the International Baccalaureate Organization. It offers the prestigious International Baccalaureate Educator Certificate (IBEC), which paves the way for a global teaching career and underscores our dedication to delivering world-class education.

Note: Manav Rachna now accepts Pearson Test Score for admission- In case the candidate has opted for an additional subject in class 12th, aggregate shall be calculated counting the best 5 subjects including English as one of the subjects.

Brief Description of the Programme

B.A.B.Ed. is a four-year integrated undergraduate programme offering a dual degree. The vision of the programme is to impart in-depth knowledge of different subjects including English, Political Science, Economics, and History with some broad interrelated curricular areas. The programme is designed according to UGC and NCTE guidelines to prepare qualitative future teachers for nation-building. This programme gives students an opportunity to complete their graduation in Arts along with graduation in Education. The programme has been designed to impart theoretical knowledge and practical skills to students in different disciplines of Humanities and empower them with teaching skills for 21st-century learning.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Pass in 10+2 with 50% or more marks in aggregate in Science-Medical/Non-Medical Stream with English as a subject.

Merit preparation/ shortlisting of candidates shall be based on the score in Pearson/ SAT/ MRNAT / 10+2 Qualifying Examination.

  • The graduates become eligible for teaching in schools at the Secondary and Senior Secondary levels.
  • They can also work as Principals/Headmistresses/Headmasters of schools, Content Developers with various educational organizations and publishing houses, Education Officers at various Government Organizations, Academic Coordinators and Supervisors, Administrators and Managers of schools and other educational institutions.
  • Besides this, with a strong and extensive professional training they can open, establish and run their own schools/institutions as well.

Scheme Syllabus

The programme follows the choice-based credit system. The total credit requirement for the award of the BA BEd degree ranges between 170 and 180 depending upon the specified curriculum and scheme of examination of the BA plus BEd integrated course. The distribution of credits over the semesters of the programme is as specified in the table below:

Candidates shall have to earn the minimum credits as specified in the curriculum scheme of the Program, to be eligible for the award of a degree. These credits should be earned under different categories as follows:

  • At least two elective courses offered by the parent department
  • At least one elective course offered by the Department of Law
  • At least one elective course by the Department of Management and Commerce

  • Dual Certification: The main reason for getting a dual degree in B.A B.Ed. is to obtain a dual certification. You will earn two certificates upon completion of the course, in recognition of having completed two graduate degrees. While the other degree concentrates on the scientific and technical components, it equips you with the teaching expertise and abilities necessary to become a fully qualified teacher through internships and classroom training.
  • Saves One Year: The ability to save a full year of study time is the main benefit of the B.A. B.Ed. programme. You will need to dedicate at least five years to completing these two courses on your own because B. Ed. programmes take at least two years to complete and B.A courses must be completed in three years. Once you sign up for the B.A. B.Ed. integrated dual degree programme, you can reduce your study duration by one year. Candidates may choose to pursue further education with the extra year or they can begin gaining useful teaching-related work experience.

Yes, a provisional admission can be provided to those candidates whose result is awaited of qualifying examination. However copy of the final result needs to be submitted within one month from the date of commencement of the classes.
