One day Industrial visit at Agilent pvt Ltd at Technology Park Manesar,Gurugram.
Department of Biotechnology organized a one-day Industrial visit to the Sewage treatment Plant, Badshahpur, Faridabad, on 15th September 2022. The objective of this visit was to provide exposure to an aspect of environmental sciences to the students of Biotechnology and Microbiology.
Students of the Biotechnology Department, MRIIIRS visited Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), Faridabad on 22nd August 2022 for a one-day Workshop on “Roadmap for Patent Creation”. The workshop was organized by THSTI, Faridabad in Collaboration with Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Govt. of India).
Special lectures on “Accessing 'Big Data' via biological databases'' were delivered by Dr. Jaya Krishnan and Dr. Narendra Singh from National Institutes of Health (NEI and NHLBI) to UG students of Department of Biotechnology, School of Engineering and Technology, MRIIRS.
Molecular Biosciences Research Cluster (MBRC), Dept. of Biotechnology, FET and Manav Rachna Dental College, MRIIRS in collaboration with Foresight Biotech Pvt. Ltd. commenced Dental Genetics Workshop from 24-26th May 2023
More : Today's fast paced research and development in the field of biology and dentistry require the students to have the knowledge of genetics for better diagnosis, prognosis and treatment.
To keep this vision in mind, a three day workshop was organized by Molecular Biosciences Research Cluster (MBRC), Dept. of Biotechnology, FET and MRDC, MRIIRS in collaboration with Foresight Biotech Pvt. Ltd.
The external expert Dr. Siddharth Manvati and Dr. Neeraj Verma from Foresight Biotech Pvt. Ltd. were called for the purpose. The internal members Dr. Puneet Batra, Dr. Kapila Kumar, Dr. Jayant Maini and Dr. Vineeta Sharma contributed to the workshop through various lectures and experimental approaches.
We are highly thankful to our Head of the Department Dr. Manu Solanki and our PVC and Dean, FET Dr. Pardeep Kumar for extending us all the support throughout the preparation and conduct of the workshop. A total of 15 students signed up for the workshop and all the activities were held at MBRC lab.
Our expert instructor Dr. Neeraj Verma shared his vast knowledge and hands-on experience, guiding attendees through the process step-by-step. From understanding the importance of knowing the oral microflora and DNA isolation to mastering the latest laboratory protocols, participants gained invaluable insights into the role of genetics in dentistry.
The participants were able to perform many molecular techniques like PCR Amplification, Primer Designing, Pedigree Analysis, Metaphase chromosome preparation and other applications. They left equipped with the skills needed to explore the genetic underpinnings of oral diseases and pave the way for personalized dental treatments.
We are immensely grateful to all the participants and volunteers of the lab (Ms. Hasmeet Kaur, Ms. Yachna Soni, Ms. Smriti, Ms. Anjali and Ms. Anushtha) for their active engagement and enthusiasm throughout the workshop. Certificates were presented to the participants and organizers at the end of the workshop.
