‘Nutrition and Dietetics’ as a subject per se, is not just an academic field, but is related to overall well-being of human beings. Accordingly, the said program at SAHS has been designed to encompass science of Nutrition and Food to promote health of the individual and the nation and also to discover how diet can be used in the treatment of communicable and non-communicable disease.

The advent of technological advancements in the field of food and allied areas, and associated changes in life style pattern, along with remarkable emergence of communicable and non-communicable health related issues have mandated a need for specialized training in the area of Nutrition and Health.

In short, the field of Nutrition and Dietetics is a vivacious and budding profession with ample career opportunities. Understanding the need of the hour, the Department (SAHS) has formulated a contemporary curriculum, which provides intensive insight into the teaching, research, practical exposure and outreach in Clinical Nutrition, Sports Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, and Public Health Nutrition.
