Eligibility Criteria
Candidates having passed 10+2 examination from the CBSE/State Boards or from any other recognized board/ Council with at least 50% aggregate marks in 5 subjects with Physics, Mathematics and English as a compulsory subject.

Specialization Available: Smart Manufacturing, Automation, Energy

Smart Manufacturing: Covering the areas of Nano Technology, Cyber Physical systems, Data Analytics, Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Robotics, Mechatronics and 3D Printing.

Energy: Covering the areas of Thermodynamics, Thermal Engg, Heat transfer, Computational Fluid dynamics, Solar Energy and its application, IC Engine and HVAC.

Specialization can be achieved through choice based credit system with the availability of more choices for students.

About

The 21st century manufacturing facilities have ushered a new wave of manufacturing with an amalgamation of technologies from advanced information technology to fully integrated production systems. With Smart Manufacturing or Industry 4.0, manufacturers are moving towards a new level of interconnected and intelligent manufacturing system which incorporates the latest advances in sensors, robotics, big data, and controllers. To keep pace with the evolution of these “smart” factories, highly skilled and nimble engineers are required to manage the increasing complexity and shorter mind-to-market product cycles. Future manufacturing engineers need to have basic knowledge on IT. Strong problem-solving skills can equate to the ability to autonomously adjust robots and production systems in real-time.

The advanced B.Tech Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Smart Manufacturing & Automation  Program is based on Industry 4.0 Revolution. It is  a multi-disciplinary programme with inclusion of different streams and subjects i.e. control system, internet of things, digital & analog system, Computer science (majorly programming, c++, JAVA, artificial Intelligence and Machine learning, Cloud computing and Network Security, Data Analytics), Mechatronics, Robotics, 3D Printing, and Nanotechnology. This specialization also covers different areas solar energy & it’s Application, heating ventilation & Air conditioning, Engines & Turbines, Manufacturing with Industrial Automation, Automobile Parts, Computational fluid dynamics DESIGNING & THERMAL etc.

The Department has also established Centres of Excellence at the campus in association with Daikin, and Altair Designtech, and has collaboration with industry leaders including STARWIRE, VICTORA TOOLS, TOOLBROS, Orient Electric, ASME, ISHRAE, SAE to prepare students for the industry.
