Q1.  Is the ECM program Affiliated with AICTE?

Ans. Yes

 Q2. Will a student be eligible to take GATE & Public Sector Exam under ECE specialization ?

Ans. Yes. Most of the courses required for GATE exam in ECM are taught without compromising the content useful to become industry ready. A student can opt either ECE or CSE or both for GATE exam.

Q3. What is the fee structure for ECM?

Ans. Fee for the course is Rs. 181500/ annum.

Q4 In today’s scenario most of the private jobs are in software Industries so why not a student go with Computer science Technology compare to ECM ?

Ans. Without any doubt CSE is choice of many due to job scenario. However a firm has lot of divisions such as R&D, embedded systems etc where knowledge of hardware is of same importance as that of software. ECM student can take a job of same profile which is offered to a CSE student but when it comes to above said core divisions, an ECM student will have an upper edge as he/she will be groomed in both areas as required by the industry.

Q6. What qualities do you think students need in order to succeed on this course?

Ans. An inquisitive mind, an interest in applying science and mathematics to solve real world problems, an ability and desire to develop novel and exciting technologies to enhance people’s lives.

Q7. What career options are open to graduates from this course?

Ans. Graduates will be employed in industries such as Automotive, Services, IoT industries, Smart devices, Software enabled services, Process controlled industries, Embedded solutions etc.  Graduates can pursue higher studies in both Electronics and Computer science subjects.

Q9. What is the difference between computer Computer Science and ECM?

Ans. ECM is basically designed to provide quality education imparting skills on both hardware and software co-design aspects. This course is with specialization verticals in VLSI, RF and Communication. Hence it benefits students to choose career path in their domain of interest which can be VLSI, RF, Communication, Computers.

Computer science focuses on understanding, designing, and developing programs and computers. At its core, Computer Science concentrates on data, data transformation, and algorithms. Advanced courses present specialized programming techniques and specific application domains.

Q10. What do you teach in Summer Training?

Ans. We provide hands-on experience in our labs. The students have designed and implemented various projects like SMOKE detector, public addressing system, stair case wiring, Voice controlled robots, Function generator etc. Students are also given exposure to Solar energy based projects so that they can realize the importance of this sustainable energy for society and its future growth.  We also provide soft skills to students to improve their personality traits and to associate them with emotional intelligence.

Q11. How is the Lab Infrastructure in ECE department?

Ans. ECE Department has well equipped infrastructure both for hardware and software based work. Hardware Labs for Basic Electronics and Electrical, Analog & Digital, PCB designing, PLC, Microwave, Control System are well equipped.  Software Tools such as Xilinx ISE, MATLAB, Tanner, Antenna Design etc are available for  analysis and simulation.In Embedded System Design Lab the students can  work with Microprocessor & Microcontroller kits and their respective software tools.  Data communication Lab also provides access to both Hardware and Software.

Center for Smart Solar Energy provides innovative blend to the student for pursuing research in solar and energy domain. Students can use these labs for their research oriented projects based on their interest in Communication VLSI, Embedded System, RF design, FPGA, Solar etc. Highly qualified faculty members are always available to guide them in their desired direction

 

Q12. What are the Placement opportunities if a student graduates in this course?

Ans Student needs to work on his interest areas to get well placed. Companies like Intel, Qualcomm, AMD, STMicroelectronics, Cadence, Freescale hire graduates having required knowledge in Electronics. If a student has interest in Computer subjects, Software companies like TCS, Accenture, HCL ,Wipro etc hire graduates having required knowledge in such domain.

ECM course provides exposure to vast domains and helps students choose career of their interest.

M.TECH ECE PROGRAMME

Q1. Is the degree offered by the University would be in a specialized field ?

Ans.    The department offers degree as M.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering with specialization in Embedded System and VLSI. . However after 1 year, students are free to select domain of their interest in which they want to do research. The major research areas are Signal Processing & Communications, RF & Microwave Engineering, VLSI Design, Solar and Controls & Instrumentation. 

Q2. What is the intake for this program?

Ans. There are 6 seats in M.Tech. ECE

Q3. What are the different fields in which a student can do his/her thesis work?

Ans. The department has faculty who can guide the students in Signal Processing, Antenna Design, VLSI, Error Coding, Wireless communication (LTE), VHDL and Verilog based work. 

Q4. I have done B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering. Am I eligible to take admission in this program?

Ans. Yes. Students who have background of Electronics and Communication, Telcommunication, Instrumentation, Control, Electrical Instrumentation ,Control, Power Electronics, Electronics & Computers are eligible to apply. 

Q5. What is the qualification of faculty who teaches various courses in this program?

Ans. Majority of faculty is PhD or PhD pursuing who will be teaching different courses in the program. 

Q6. Is GATE percentile required for pursuing M.Tech program?

Ans. GATE percentile is preferred for pursuing M. Tech. Programme. 

Q7. What is the fee for this program?

Ans. The fee is Rs. 1,06,000/ annum.
