Slogan Writing Competition on ‘Ideals of Swami Vivekanand’

As a part of the clan activity, the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, FMeH, on 12th January 2023,organized a slogan writing competition to celebrate the National Youth Day. The activity was attended by the students of Journalism & Mass Communication.

As a part of the activity, students were required to prepare slogans reflecting the ideals of Swami Vivekanand and give a brief presentation of the same. Students had the opportunity to showcase their creativity while also improving their communication skills through the activity.

It was indeed a tough competition. Hemlata Sharma of BAMC, 1st semester (Water Sharks) was declared the winner. Kamakshi Bishnoi of BAMC, 1st semester (Wild Cats) bagged the second position. Overall, it was a fruitful activity for the students as they got an opportunity to improve their observational skills and showcase their presentation skills as well.

The competition was judged by Dr. Kiran Bala, Professor &HoD, J & MC, and Dr. SumanKumari, Associate Professor, J & MC. They interacted with all of the participants and offered advice on how to improve their communication skills. The advice was extremely beneficial to the students. The participants were energized by the remarks made by the judges.

The activity was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Maithili Ganjoo, Dean FMeH.

Student Activity Report

The main topics of discussion included significant adjustments to tax slabs under the new tax system and a significant increase in funding for capital projects like railroads. Budget allocation for youth, education, and the health sector were also major topics of conversation.

The Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, FMeH, organized a group discussion on the Union Budget 2023 on February 2nd in room QFS-21. Students from BA-JMC 4th semester participated in the activity. The discussion enabled the students to gain in-depth knowledge of the budget as well as improve their public speaking skills. More than 15 students participated in the discussion.

The session began with Dr. Kiran Bala, HoD, JMC, giving the students a summary of the Union Budget 2023. Students further explored how it affects various societal groups.

It was very enriching for the students because it aimed to improve their communication skills, self-confidence, and knowledge. Faculty members Dr. Krishna Pandey, Dr. Jai Kishon Goswami also participated in the discussion. The activity was coordinated by Ms. Ankita Bharti under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Maithili Ganjoo (Dean, FMeH) and Dr. Kiran Bala (HOD, Dept. of J&MC).
