The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication is home to a vibrant community of 30 PhD scholars, actively engaged in advanced research across diverse areas such as media, gender and representation, digital media and consumer engagement, social media and society, technology and user experience, folk and community media, journalism and news institutions, and media, culture and national identity. These scholars contribute significantly to the department’s dynamic research environment.

To support focused academic work, the department provides a dedicated research room where scholars can work on their dissertations without disturbance. PhD scholars are integral to all departmental activities and are regularly involved in national and international conferences, symposiums, academic festivals, and media conclaves. They are consistently encouraged to present their research at these platforms, fostering professional growth and visibility in the field of media and communication studies.
