The media takes center stage in our daily lives since it is the most essential source of information, and its influence on society is undeniably enormous.

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities signed an MoU with Sony India. As part of the collaboration, Sony India will provide equipment like cameras along with regular learning interventions comprising of workshops, photo-walks, training programs, guest lectures with global cinematographers.

This collaboration will also help the students partake in various national and international photography events. Sony India also offers an exclusive still photography competition for students which is called Sony World Photography Awards (SWPA), and this will be open for the students of DJMC where Sony India will be training them and showcasing their best works as part of the competition and it is curated in London.

Woodpecker International Film Festival

Woodpecker International Film Festival (WIFF) - India's biggest film festival on Issue-Based Cinema. Launched in 2013 the festival is counted among the highly respected film festivals in India. WIFF partiicpated in the film festival Avlokan- The Creative Kites 2023 organsied by the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, School of Media Studies & Humanities, MRIIRS, on May 9, 2023.

The aim of the film festival was to promote films as a medium of creative expression, providing a platform for emerging filmmakers to showcase their talent while encouraging and celebrating creativity and diversity through cinematic experiences.
