They have far higher levels of challenges, which require out-of-the-box thinking to provide a solution for complex problems. As an economist, financial analyst, and researcher, you are now dealing with the complex integration of industry, financial sector, international trade and finance from an open economy macroeconomics perspective.
Welcome to the Department of Economics, School of Social and Behavioural Studies (SBSS) at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS). The department was established in 2016 and offers a 3-year BA (H) in Economics, 2-year MA in Economics and a Doctoral programme in diverse fields of economics. The department provides a wide range of courses for those who are passionate about economics and want to build a career, to help you develop the skills and knowledge that you need to succeed in today’s data-driven world.
Our undergraduate program in economics is designed to give you a strong foundation in economic theory and quantitative analysis, while also providing you with the opportunity to explore specialized areas of interest, such as international economics, development economics, or financial economics, to name a few. For those who are interested in pursuing advanced studies, we offer a challenging and rewarding postgraduate program in economics. Our program will provide you with the opportunity to deepen your understanding of economic theory and practice and to develop the advanced analytical and research skills needed to succeed in a variety of academic and professional settings.
We have an excellent team of faculty members who are experts in their respective fields and are committed to helping you achieve your academic and career goals. The department provides the opportunity to gain real-world experience through internships and research opportunities. Industrial Internship is an integral part of the curriculum in partnership with Ernst and Young, Infosys, IHC Foundation, TERI and ISID. The combination of academic rigor and practical experience prepares students for success in their career paths. The department has an MoU with the University of Winnipeg, Canada and with the Ural State University of Economics, Russia to create an opportunity for higher studies abroad, enabling student and faculty exchange programmes.
The EcoNomads’ Society run by the students at the department organizes various extra and co-curricular activities in economics and business throughout the year, providing students with the opportunity to network with peers, learn from experts in the field, and engage in meaningful discussions. Additionally, the EcoBizz Blog and EcoBizz Magazine provide a platform to showcase academic and creative writing skills, while there are many ways to get involved in the vibrant intellectual community of the Department of Economics.
