The M.Phil in Clinical Psychology at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) is a two-year postgraduate program affiliated with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) under the Department of Clinical Psychology, School of Behavioural and Social Science (SBSS). This program trains individuals to become professional Clinical Psychologists skilled in diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitative, and administrative services, emphasizing ethical practice, compassion, and evidence-based methodologies to enhance mental well-being.
This course is designed as an intensive and integrated two-year program, combining comprehensive theoretical knowledge with extremely extensive clinical practice to equip trainees with the essential skills in Clinical Psychology (Psychotherapies and Psychopathologies), Psychiatry, Basic Research, and Behavioural Medicine.
A minimum of a 2-year M.A./M.Sc. degree in Psychology from a UGC-recognized university with at least 55% aggregate marks. For candidates in the reserved category, a minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required, as per Government of India guidelines.

The examination will be held in two parts (Part - I and Part - II). Part -I is held at the end of the first year and Part – II is held at the end of the second year. A minimum period of three monthsof additional training shall be necessary before appearing for the examination in case he/she fails to clear the Part – I and/or Part – II examination. A candidate has to complete the course successfully within a period of four years from the year of admission to the course.

A minimum attendance of 80% (in a year including in all academic activities) shall be necessary for taking the respective examination. Thirty days of casual leave, maximum of fifteen days per academic year, shall be permitted during the two-year course period apart from the leaves sanctioned in the academic calendar.
Minimum educational requirement: 2 years M.A./M.Sc. degree in Psychology from a university recognized by the UGC with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. For the SC/ST category, a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is essential, as per GOI.
Selection process: The candidate needs to fill out an online form at our website with the prescribed fee. After accepting the form, the university will inform the candidate about the written test, followed by an interview.
There is no need to submit original certificates but candidates must produce original certificates/documents on the day of admission for their verification, failing which candidate shall not be considered for admission. Two sets of self-attested copies of the certificates/documents are required to be submitted at the time of physical counseling. More details may be available in the admission brochure.
The trainees have successful careers in Govt. ministries, academics, public health departments, rehabilitation centres, hospitals, and private clinical settings, working in NGOs, schools, colleges and universities as clinical psychologists and also in corporate sectors as trainers and specialists in psychological assessments.
