Department of Physics, organized a research webinar on Optoelectronic sensors on 11th June 2020 through zoom platform. The speaker was Dr. Ashu bansal from University of St Andrews, St Andrews, UK. Dr. Ashu delivered a webinar on the topic “Organic Optoelectronic Sensors for Biomedical Applications”. In this talk, he discussed the importance of Organic semiconductors that are now of growing interest for sensing applications. He discussed recent progress using organic light-emitting diodes and photodiodes for biophotonic applications with few examples of wearable sensors. Wearable sensors are important for continuous monitoring of health and our approach offers the advantages of being non-invasive, light-weight, flexible and simple to make. A remarkable demonstration of one of these sensors is its use to drive a robot arm which mimics the motion of the arm of a volunteer for two types of muscle contractions.
