The Department of Mathematics organized one day workshop on “Introduction to R” on 25th February 2022 from 11:30 am onwards in online mode (link -https://meet.google.com/daa-txzx-ith ). The session was started by Dr. Y K Sharma, HoD Mathematics by welcoming Dean School of Applied sciences, Manav Rachna University and the participants form different colleges/ Universities/ Industry. Further Dr. Sharma explained in brief about the workshop and introduced the speaker of the day, Dr. Advin Masih.
Dr. Deepa Arora, delivered the welcome address and briefed about the objective & outcome of the workshop.On first day, the workshop comprised of two sessions. The first session was on ‘Writing text for various scientific documents’ by Dr. Ankita Pandey, Assistant Prof., MRU and the other one was on ‘Writing various type of Scientific formulae, equations, matrix etc.’ by Dr. Dinesh Tripathi, Assistant Prof., MRU.
Dr. Advin Masih initiated his talk by giving a brief history of R-software, its importance and applications in various areas of research, academia & industry and job opportunities after getting skills of this valuable software. Further Dr. Masih explained the installation procedure of R & R-studio and other tools which are required to run the software smoothly.
About 73 participants attended the session. He also suggested the reference books which are very helpful for further understanding about the software R. In the end of the talk there was a question-answer session with the speaker and the recourse person replied to the all queries. At the end of the program Dr Y K Sharma proposed the vote of thanks and asked for suggestions for such a program in the future.
