Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Pass in 10+2 Examination / Equivalent Examination with at least 45% marks in aggregate in 5 subjects including English as compulsory subjects along with 4 subjects with the highest score out of the remaining subjects.

At SBSS we have diverse programs, including Psychology, Economics, Political Science, Liberal Arts with majors in Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Social Work, Public Policy, International Relations, Political Science under the Department of Applied Psychology, Department of Economics, Department of Social and Political Studies respectively.

Inception on October 19, 2019 (Academic Council 30, Agenda Item 29) and Department formed in January 2020.

Programmes were initiated from October 1, 2020.

Currently we have 76 students enrolled in our undergraduate /postgraduate and doctorate programme with strong industry-academia interlinkages .

Fully equipped state of the art 'Human Lab' for experiential learning and pedagogy.

The UGC approved Choice Based Credit System model has been followed since 2020.

Students are exposed to important national and international policy level initiatives, conferences, seminars, workshops, industry oriented internships, voluntary social services, field visits, student-led curricular, co-curricular and extra curricular activities like School Fest, University Fest, Debate Competitions, Slogan Writing through the Department Academic Committee and a strong Department Student Council.

Market oriented social science skills aligned with NEP 2020 as a part of the curriculum and learning process linked with the learning prescriptors dealing with - creativity, skills, value, ethics, holistic learning being aligned to the NEP 2020.

Skill based training for enhancing employability skills through MOUs and field based, industrial internships integrated with the curriculum from 2nd year onwards.

Assimilate new, experimental, reflective, introspective, pedagogical processes with experiential applications involving normative, qualitative, empirical and quantitative techniques to contemporary, futuristic, transdisciplinary liberal arts, social and political studies for sustainability and sustainable development goals

Comprehend, synthesize and apply normative, empirical, scientific, artistic frameworks in an interdisciplinary way to address the social, political, economic, governance, cultural and artistic challenges and goals of sustainability

Reflect, introspect and explore an ethics and value based learning process through the transdisciplinary lens for making an impact on the public policy discourses related to the social, political, governance, cultural domains of sustainability at the local, national and international level.
