Tech Biotechnology students led by Dr. Kapila Kumar won the Bronze Medal at iGEM 2020 (MIT, USA) for creating a genetically engineered E.coli to detect and estimate the N-nitrosamines in water. The team was able to file a patent and register a start-up from this award-winning work. The participation was fully sponsored by DBT, Government of India (Funding of Approx. 7 Lacs).
