Brief Profile

Dr. Shivani Vashist is working as Professor and Head of the Department at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies, Faridabad. She is Joint Secretary of FSLE-India Haryana chapter. She has done her Ph.D in English literature from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. She guides students for their M Phil and Ph.D research. She has a fetish to study Indian Fiction. Apart from Indian writing in English, her other interests are South Asian literature, fiction of all genres, and Women and Gender studies.

Two Books namely Portrayal of Women in Media and Literature( 2013) and Globalization and Indian English Literature (2015) have been edited and published by her.

INDIRA GANDHI Award For Excellence to Outstanding Men & Women of India for the Year 2015 during a National Conference held at India International Center, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on 29th Nov, 2015 by Friendship Forum of India. Gold medal, Certificate of Excellence and Certificate of Felicitation.

She was also bestowed the “Best Researcher Award” at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus, Chennai on 5th Oct 2019.

Awarded Minor Research Project by Indian Council of Social Science Research in March 2022.
