“Workshop on Mantras for Success” & Guest Session on Career Opportunities for Culinary Graduate in International Cruise Line

Faculty of Hotel Management on 19th September 2022 organised a Workshop on Mantras for Success and a guest session was organised on Career Opportunities for Culinary Graduate in International Cruise Line.

Guest Speaker: Executive Chef – Jai Kumar Bhasin

A Master executive Chef with more than 36 years of Hospitality experience and with 10+ years in different Five Star Hotels in India and more than 26years of International Experience of World class cruise lines. Have been around the world with four world class cruise lines.

Director General RK Anand (Dean FHM) and Ms. Ritika Singh (Director – FHM) welcomed the guest and introduced the guest with the students. Chef Bhasin talked about his journey and gave live and interesting examples of his experiences of Cruise operations. Chef Bhasin mentioned that the life of a Cruise Line Chef involves touching breath-taking ports, sampling delicious food, meeting new people and experiencing a multicultural work environment. But it’s also a hard life and cruise ship employees need to have determination to be away from home for months at a time and the commitment to ensure impeccable service day after day.

Chef Bhasin Discussed the four mantras to be a successful Chef: –

1)    Be loyal to yourself

2)    Cook and serve the food with love and affection

3)    Stay focused and always keep a positive attitude

4)    Be a team maker

5)    Being friendly in nature

Chef Bhasin readily answered all the queries put up by the students on career and scope for a Culinary Graduates in hospitality industry. The session was highly informative and motivating.
