Workshop on “Hands-on Heart – Learning Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation & Basic Life Skills” for Manav Rachna students

Dr. O. P. Bhalla Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Management & Commerce, Manav Rachna University organized a hands-on workshop on “Hands-on Heart – Learning Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation & Basic Life Skills” recently.

The goal of the program was to educate the students and faculties of Manav Rachna regarding the increasing issues of heart health in present population and learning the steps of Basic Life Support and CPR to save live in times of need.

Dr. NC Wadhwa, Director-MREI talked about the current challenge of India’s young population dealing with their unhealthy lifestyle and added stress which leads to diseases and especially heart issues. He briefed the participants about the efforts of Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation and Manav Rachna in the holistic development of students and encouraged them to take up sports and do some exercise on daily basis.

Dr. Gupta stressed on the fact that like we keep our family members in our favorites on mobile, we all should keep the emergency doctor’s number on speed dial in cases of emergency. He explained the process of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in detail steps to all of us and asked every student and participant to learn the CPR.

This was followed by a physical demonstration on an adult and a child mannequin by Mr. Mahesh, Metro Nursing College. Our honorable VC-MRIIRS Prof. Sanjay Srivastava did a demo CPR followed by the students.

A total of 120 participants enjoyed and interactively participated in the session.
