Webinar on Strategies for Global Energy Challenges

Department of Applied Science, MRIIRS organized a webinar on ‘Strategies for Global Energy Challenges’ with an aim to explore the applications of emerging technologies to efficiently meet global energy needs.

The eminent speakers for the event were Prof (Dr.) Pramod Bhatnagar, Professor Emeritus, University of Delhi and Currently UGC BSR Fellow; Dr. Beena Sethi, Associate Professor, Chemistry, K. L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad; Dr. Vijay Kumar, Professor in Mathematics, Department of Applied Sciences FET, MRIIRS, Faridabad, and University alumna– Ms. Aashlesha, Technical Student at CERN, World’s Largest Nuclear & Particle Physics Laboratory. The undergraduate/postgraduate students and Faculty members from more than 35 institutes/universities attended the webinar.

Prof (Dr) Pramod Bhatnagar started the talk by providing the participants with a basic understanding of what the topic exactly is. He discussed different challenges of energy sectors and emphasized to use renewable energy. He further focussed on clean energy usage so that pollution can be avoided.

Dr. Beena Sethi discussed the day to day energy challenges and also emphasized optimum utilization of energy so that the need of everyone can be met. She also discussed the requirement of energy in the industrial and transportation sectors. She further highlighted the role of each individual for the conservation of energy resources.

Dr. Vijay Kumar discussed that emerging technology like big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning can be helpful to meet global energy challenges.

The session was very interesting and was highly appreciated by all those who attended.
