Webinar on “Micro-EDM Process and its Industrial Application”

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, FET, MRIIRS organized a webinar on “Micro-EDM Process and its Industrial Application” recently.

The goal of this online course was to share with the participants the cutting edge research and development carried out/observed by the speaker in advanced manufacturing domain, for products having immediate industrial applications, for self-reliance of the country. To meet these industrial challenges, especially in the era of “Self-reliance of the nation”, the engineering graduates need to know the application-specific, advanced manufacturing processes from the researchers themselves.

The expert lecture was delivered by Dr. Ajay Suryavanshi, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department, Bundelkhand Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jhansi (U.P.). He had discussed the machining potential of Micro-EDM along with the demands of miniaturized products and components in various industries. Moreover, he had covered the development of the theoretical model of micro EDM using finite element method (FEM) with its analysis, execution of modeling and optimization using various hybrid approaches and future research scopes etc.

A total of about 74 participants joined the webinar from the different Institutes and they were enlightened with preceding and perspective research of micro-EDM process, and also gained the proper information about its industrial applications in various modern industries. The session was highly informative and participants took it in quite a positive way.Prof (Dr.) Harish C. Rai, Dean, FET; Dr. Geeta Nijhawan, Associate Dean, FET, MRIIRS and Dr. Manoj Nayak, HOD, ME, FET, MRIIRS appreciated the webinar session.
