Webinar on Keeping Active in the Home by UK Elite Sports Group, UK

In the series of the international webinars, International Education Centre has been organizing, the webinar on Keeping Active in the Home by UK Elite Sports Group, UK was conducted recently.

The audience comprised faculties and students from MRIS and Kunskapsskolan Schools. The expert guest of the session was Mr. Matt Lewis, Head of Training and Development UKESG.

The session was started with the brief introduction about our guest by Col. Girish Kumar Sharma, Director Planning & Coordination. Mr. Lewis then started the session focusing on the topic ‘Keeping Active in the Home’ during the lockdown. He said that being sedentary is bad for our physical and mental health, so staying active during this difficult time is important. Being active helps lower stress hormones. He had shared a presentation which includes the videos of variety of exercises which students will get the following benefits by doing at home:

Higher energy levels

Lower stress levels and blood pressure

Helps to resist infections

Increase muscle strength

Reduce anxiety and depression

He further added, maintaining a degree of fitness during lockdown has been shown to enhance the efficiency of the neural pathways responsible for cognitive control, memory and attention.

Mr. Lewis had shared his knowledge and expertise to turn the whole session into erudite discussion pertaining to the requirements of the student’s health benefit. There was also a question-answer round where students did put forth their queries and got them answered from the panel.

It was indeed a very well-organized session which was truly very enlightening and enriching from all ends. The session would surely help the students in adopting a very balanced lifestyle during this pandemic situation.
