Two Week Faculty Development Program on ‘Entrepreneurship’

New-Gen IEDC, MRIIRS organized the Two-Week Faculty Development Program on ‘Entrepreneurship’ from 5th to 17th Oct., 2020. The program was duly sponsored by EDII Ahmedabad under the DST-NIMAT Scheme. The 12-day FDP was designed to train and motivate the faculty members from Universities, Engineering Colleges, and Polytechnic Colleges that are involved or likely to be involved in the promotion of entrepreneurship-related activities.

During this pandemic, the program was conducted through online mode with innovative pedagogy. The program began with noteworthy inputs by Dr. Amit Bhalla, Vice-President, MREI on the journey of MR Group. The Chief Guest of the Inaugural session Dr. Unnat Pandit, Dean, JNU, discussed the role of innovation as he was earlier associated with the Atal Innovation Mission.  His rich experience in Innovation made him emphasize the importance of innovation in the nation’s development. Dr. Mohit Gambhir (Guest of Honour, Inaugural Session) shared the AICTE commitments and programs related to Entrepreneurship Development.

Around 20+ academicians and the industry practitioners from India & abroad took various sessions to impart all aspects of Entrepreneurship among the participants. The academicians inculcated theoretical background i.e. what to do what not to be done in the Entrepreneurial journey. Whereas, the Industry Practitioners/trainers train the participant on how to motivate the students and accelerate them on the entrepreneurial pathway?

During the program, Vice-Chancellor MRIIRS, Dr. Sanjay Srivastava took a session on Leadership where he discussed the 7 mantras of Leadership & Team Building from his illustrious experience. Mr. Vishal Lalani, MD Indication Instruments Ltd interacted with the participants and discussed his experience as a second-generation entrepreneur in India to a first-generation entrepreneur in the US. In the valedictory session, Mr. SS Radha Ramana (DGM, SIDBI) was the Chief Guest and Dr. R.K. Sharma (Director, IPE) as the Guest of Honour interacted with the participants and guided them on the business plan.  

In addition to the interactive sessions, a few activities like motivational study, psychometric profiling, design aspect study, business plan model presentation and the sharing of learning from renowned entrepreneurs were also part of this program.
