Third Ph.D. Orientation Program

New scholars – New journey – New goals

PhD office, MRU organized an orientation program on 20th January, 2018 for MRU’s Ph.D. students of batch 2017-18. Research Scholars belonging to various streams like Management, Education, Sciences and Engineering were part of orientation program. The orientation program was divided into three phases Hawan, Session on Plagiarism and Shodh Ganga and Certificate distribution to scholars of previous batches. The event was also graced by various dignitaries including Prof. N. C. Wadhwa (Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, MRIIRS), Prof. V. K. Mahna (Executive Director, MREI), Prof. Meenakshi Khurana (Pro Vice- chancellor, MRU).

The program started with overview of Ph.D. program which was presented by Dr Megha Mittal followed by PhD ordinance and processes by Prof. B.M. Bahal Dean Research. Keynote speaker for the event was Sh. Manoj Kumar, Scientist-D(CS), INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, who is also heading Shodhganga: a repository of Indian Electronic Theses and Dissertation. He shared role of Shodhganga and importance of plagiarism tools during research. He also gave hands on session on various tools for plagiarism and reference management.

The ceremony was also marked by unveiling of significant Ph.D. manuscripts i.e. Supervisors’ booklet and Scholars’ Booklet etc by the esteemed dignitaries. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Prinima Gupta, PhD office.
