STC on Big Data Analytics
Department of Computer Science & Technology, Manav Rachna University, organized a one week ICT based Short Term Course on Big Data Analytics by NITTTR Chandigarh from Feb 3 to Feb 7, 2020. Around 45 faculty members from MRU and MRIIRS participated in the STC. The event was coordinated by Prof. Anu Priya Sharma and Prof. Ankur Kumar Aggarwal.
The objective of the course was to learn fundamental concepts in Big Data Analytics, understand various data analytics methods, implement Hadoop, MapReduce, HDFS, and Hive, extract and evaluate live data from social media, to analyze data using R, Numpy, Pandas and Matplotlib. This course endeavored to provide an opportunity for the participants to learn and appreciate the technology options in the field of Big Data & Analytics.
The faculty got an opportunity to learn various technologies related to Big Data Analytics Data Analytics, Machine Learning Techniques for Big Data Analytics, Hadoop, MapReduce and HDFS, Data Extraction from Social Media, Predictive Mining, Big Data Analytics on Cloud, Data Analytics using R, Data Analytics using Numpy, Pandas and Matplotlib, Data Processing using Hive.
