After the initial joint Orientation where the newcomers learned about the rich heritage of Manav Rachna Educational Institutions and were made aware of the vision and mission of the Founder Visionary Dr. O.P. Bhalla, the students finally came to their respective departments.
The first day of FCBS Orientation was combined and the Commerce and Business Studies students of the new batch of 2020 – 2021 got ready to be initiated to their respective departments and seemed eager to know more about their faculty and what they should look forward to.
Day -2 started with a session on ‘MATHS MADE EASY’ taken by Dr. Arvind Dalal. He was introduced by Ms. Radha Pandit who assured the students that by the end of the session, they would have overcome their fear of Maths as a subject. This session was organized to put them at ease and remove their apprehensions about the subject.
He tried to explain simple concepts without using Computer. As the students are totally addicted to the usage of calculators even for solving simple equations, this was a step towards honing their mental skills. So, this interaction was aimed at encouraging the usage of their own mental capability.
Advertising is a method used to attract the buyer’s attention. To acquaint students with promotional strategies in marketing through advertisements the second session ‘AD MAD SHOW’ was to bring out the fun element in students and their creativity.
It not only showcased their acting skills but also the impromptu ability to use their cognitive skills on the spot. The students were shown pictures of different everyday products that they had to sell using their marketing and persuasive skills.
The students participated with a lot of enthusiasm. This activity helped the students enhance their skills in expression, voice modulation, and dialogue delivery. Most of the students came up with unique ideas and enjoyed the learning experience. The session also helped the students to engage with their teachers at a slightly informal level. They thoroughly enjoyed the session.
