Nutritional assessment-Dietary methods in nutrition epidemiology
On the Day-3 of the workshop in celebrating National Nutrition Month 2020, a very relevant topic Dietary methods in nutrition epidemiology was covered by Dr. Neha Gupta, Program officer, INCLAIN trust international.
Dr. Divya Sanghi HoD Department of Nutrition & Dietetics welcomed the honorable speaker and the audience.
During her two hours lecture, she highlighted the importance of dietary methods used in various research studies. She spoke on the various dietary methods used at the household level to assess individual dietary intake or dietary patterns. She emphasized upon choosing the appropriate dietary method for the type of study setting, study participants, sample size and research question, etc.
She explained the standardization of instrument (questionnaire), portion size, and food items. At the end of her presentation, she also discussed the various case studies based on the duration of the study and the research question, which made the session more interactive.
