Ms. Lakhwinder Kaur, Nutrition & Dietetics, FAS, MRIU felicitated at 2nd iCiAsT-2017, Singapore

International Conference on Innovative Approaches in Applied Sciences and Technologies was held between June 19-23^rd2017 at Nanyang Executive Centre, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. This conference was jointly organised by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Scientific Educational Research Society (SERS), Meerut, in collaboration with CSIR- Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, New Delhi and Department of Anatomy, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore. 

The aim of the conference was to provide a forum for the dissemination of cutting-edge research findings and stimulate scientific research. This multi-disciplinary conference brought together over 100 scientists, engineers, industries, academicians and the government officials from 10 countries to share their experiences, to learn from each other, and to debate the future development of inter generational work. The conference was structured around scientific sessions, and breakout meetings to allow all participants to enter brainstorming discussion. 

The scientific sessions not only addressed the advancements in the field of science and agriculture but also touched the economic, political and social issues – be the regional or global, historic or unprecedented. 

Ms. Lakhvinder Kaur, Assistant Professor, Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Manav Rachna International University was invited as a Lead Speaker. She delivered a lecture on “Synbiotic functional beverages with health promoting benefits”. She was felicitated with the Women Scientist Award 2017 For Excellence in the field of Innovative Scientific Research. 

She also co-chaired the technical session-II with Dr.S.L.Swamy, Professor, IGKV, Raipur, India. Her work earned her a lot of accolades at global platform. 

Ms. Geetali Bajaj, M.Sc. IV student, Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Manav Rachna International University participated as an speaker. She presented her work on “Biopolymer Edible Packaging Film: Development of Edible Packaging Film Using Gluten and Green Tea & its Evaluation”. She was felicitated with a Co- Inventor Award for her commendable work on Edible Packaging Material – a solution to social and environmental issues. 

The Chief Guest of the Conference was Shri Vishnu Dutt Sharma (State General Secretary, BJP, Madhya Pradesh). The galaxy of scientists who attended the conference were: Dr. Xian Jun Loh, Dr. Navin Kumar Verma, Dr.Rajesh Chanramohandas, Dr.Fazil Turabe (Singapore) and Dr. P. M. Salimath (VC), Dr. Dalel Singh (VC) and Dr. Hemant Gautam (Sr. Principal Scientist IGIB) along with others.
