Live Consultation and Training: Post COVID Rehabilitation
Department of Physiotherapy, FAHS, at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, organized a webinar on Live consultation and training: Post Covid Rehabilitation that was taken up by Dr. Nitesh Malhotra & Dr. Preeti Saini Consultant & Academician in Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy.
Dr. Nitesh Malhotra, who is a Specialist in Cardiothoracic rehabilitation, demonstrated different positions to reduce patient stress and work of breathing, along with that participants were explained with a different relaxation technique applicable for COVID patients. Thereafter special techniques of removing the secretion from the lungs like autogenic drainage, active cycle of breathing techniques were also demonstrated.
Dr. Preeti Saini also talked about the different benefits of performing these breathing exercises and about the dos and don’ts of the exercises were explained. She also illustrated some peripheral exercises for extremities. The precautions which are to be followed by the therapist were also demonstrated.
The event was joined by 75 participants including students, patients, and clinicians. The event was organized as part of series of events from the Department of Physiotherapy under the guidance of Hon. Pro. V.C Prof (Dr.) G. L. Khanna & Dean FAHS Prof.(Dr.) Moattar Raza Rizvi.
