Department of Prosthodontics and Implantology organized a symposium on ‘Advanced Oral Implantology’ on February 27, 2019 by International speaker, Dr. Paulo Jorge Romao Varela, from Portugal at Manav Rachna Campus.
First session of the lecture dealt with the steps involved in treating cases with deficient alveolar bone and execution of rehabilitation with implants followed by clinical implications through a series of long term successful cases performed by him. He enlightened the most valued and predictable way of sinus lift procedure and he threw a light on the better predictability of lateral approach and its safety features.
The second session gave a Hands-on experience on typhodont jaw sets where all the participants were given a one on one experience and guidance to place oral implants in an ideal fashion. Over 60 participants placed implants in model enabling them to familiarize them with a predictable treatment modality.
This equipped all the participants with great knowledge and made them aware of the successful treatment outcome. Overall, it was a learning experience appreciated by all the participants.
