Invited lecture on ‘Nature Inspired Optimization Techniques’ at MRU

Department of Mathematics, Manav Rachna University organized an invited lecture on ‘Nature Inspired Optimization Techniques’. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Jagdish Chand Bansal, an Assistant Professor in the South Asian University, New Delhi. He is also the General Secretary of Soft Computing Research Society.

The lecture commenced on an active note with Dr. J. C. Bansal interacting with the students. He further took various real-life examples and helped to understand the application of various optimization techniques like Swarm Intelligence and Artificial Bee colony Algorithm. He enlightened students on Biogeography Based Optimization (BBO) techniques and also talked about how changes and transitions should be made in every algorithm depending upon the situation. He even welcomed questions from the audience and further clarified the reasons for mutation in a population species.

He concluded his session by encouraging them to take up ‘Nature Inspired Optimization Techniques’ as a research project at their Under Graduate and Post Graduate level.
