National Nutrition Week is celebrated each year from September 1 to September 7 in order to awaken people about their health and well-being.
Department of Nutrition & Dietetics began its National Nutrition Month 2019 with expert talk and cultural programs. Dr. N C Wadhwa (DG, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions), Dr. MK Soni (Pro VC, MRIIRS), Dr. Naresh Grover (Dean FAS), Dr. Kolt (Dean Life Sciences Western Sydney University), Dr. Rajul K Gupta (Brig Retd) and Dr. Divya Sanghi (HOD Department of Nutrition & Dietetics) inaugurated the NNW celebration by lamp lighting.
The day comprised of the expert talk by Dr. Rajul K Gupta and cultural program by the students of the department. His talk was based on lifestyle diseases and he emphasized on the harmful effects of stress and unorganized lifestyle. He encouraged the audience to shift their eating preferences to vegetarian foods to overcome the deleterious effects. In the end, Dr. Pratibha Singh, Professor extended a vote of thanks to the gathering. The event offered a unique opportunity to gain knowledge about health and nutrition.
