Guest Lecture by Mr. Kaushal Mehtani, Director Finance & Global Head

img_9264mbaStudents of BBA Finance and Accounts, BBA Entrepreneurship and Family Business and BBA Healthcare Management, Department of Management and Commerce attended a Guest Lecture by Mr Kaushal Mehtani, Director Finance & Global Head, Transformation and Digitization, Tata Communications. The topic was ‘MIS & reporting & relevance of changing reporting standards and the evolving management reporting framework’. Mr Mehtani heads the transformation and digitisation portfolio for finance. He has an overall 14+ years of professional experience in Investor reporting, Financial planning and Analysis, Budgeting and forecasting, Closing and reporting, Commercials and pricing, Merger and Acquisitions, Finance operations, ERP implementations and Audits. Before joining TCL, he worked with industry majors like KPMG, Genpact, Barclays Shared Services, Citigroup’s direct channel.

He used to be the Head of finance and transformation for KPMG global services and has also lead the commercial and pricing for Genpact which involved end to end negotiations and commercial structuring of deals for prospective clients (RFP/RFQ’s) across all business sectors, Geographies and verticals (Contact Centres, Finance & Accounting, Procurement, HRO, Analytics). He has Spearheaded the M&A of Headstrong ($550M deal) and integration and been instrumental in setting up the entire Finance function at Barclays Shared Services including high-end Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance Operations.

Mr Mehtani spoke on how to create value for various stakeholders such as employees, shareholders, suppliers, customers et al. and how technology is impacting accounting practices and standards. He explained the impact of global accounting standards on the Indian Accounting standards which are fast evolving and growing. The session was highly interactive and engaging for the students. It ended with a Vote of Thanks by Prof .(Dr) Rajat Gera. The session was attended by Prof. Jaideep Singh, Prof. Birendra Prasad, Prof. Bindu Agrawal and Prof. Pragati Chauhan.
