FCBS Talent Hunt : 14th July 2016

To welcome the blossoming faces of Manav Rachna’s new family members, Department of Student Welfare, MRIU conducted a Talent Hunt for the freshers of FCBS as a part of orientation programme on 14th July 2016. The students showcased their talent in the fields of dance, music, mimicry, etc.

The event started at 1:15 P.M. in T Block Auditorium which was hosted by Sonal Prasad (3rd year B. Tech CSE, FET) and Athang Potwar (3rd year B. Tech Mech., FET). Sudhanshu from 2nd year BBA, FCBS gave a solo performance along with a Beat Boxing performance by Kunal Srivastava, 2nd year BAJMC, FMeH which made the crowd cheer. Chocolates and certificates were distributed to all the participants.

Students were introduced to the Annual Cultural Fest, Resurrection by Divyanshu Huria (Fest Coordinator). A video was shown comprising of promotional events held inside and outside the campus. Nakshatra Pandey, Coordinator Students Welfare encouraged the students to be a part of the department as it provides a platform to express and enhance their talent. A presentation comprising photographs of all the major events conducted by DSW in the past was displayed.

Among the students who volunteered and showcased their talent during the Talent Hunt were Sagar Soni (B.B.A. General), Himanshi Duggal (B.A. English (H)), Mansi Khurana (B.Com), Aditi Malhotra (B. Com. (H)) and others.

Dr. Amit Seth (HOD, Business Studies, FCBS), Dr. Anil Sarin (Professor, FCBS) along with other senior faculty members graced the occasion by their presence. Prof. I. K. Kilam (Dean Students Welfare) was present althrough the event and addressed the audience at the end by sharing his precious views. He also encouraged the new batch to participate in co-curricular activities along with academics in order to build their personalities. He also defined DSW as “to the students, for the students and by the students”. The event was concluded by a dance performance by the members of Manav Rachna Dance Troupe.
