Faculty of Education, MRU welcomed its Education students to an Orientation Programme

The First day of ten-day long  Departmental Orientation Program of” Faculty of Education”, MRU, took off  wonderfully well. The Inaugural Session was conducted by Dr Babita Parashar. She shared with students the vision of the program, Research-based curriculum, various workshops scheduled in the program and role of Manav Rachna International Schools.The inaugural session was followed by another interactive session, by Dr Jasmeet and Ms Seema Sharma. Before the Teacher Aptitude Test was administered to students, a fruitful interaction as to why they have chosen this profession and a brief of the test was enjoyed and appreciated.

The concluding session was an Ice-breaking session which was conducted by Ms Shreyasi Das and Dr Kiran Gupta. “What is “Self –Concept”, Why is it significant to have a clear and positive Self-Concept were the points of discussion during this session. The interesting presentation helped students assimilate the concept clearly. The best and most interesting part of the session were the ice-breaking games which enabled students to do away with all types of initial inhibitions and apprehensions.

On the second day of our orientation program, the first session was conducted by Mr Aditya  Dhawan and Ms Ridhi Khanna. The students were made to work on MS word under their teachers’ supervision. Right in the beginning of the session, she enumerated different roles an ideal teacher is supposed to perform.  The last session was hosted by Ms Shreyasi Das and Dr Kiran Gupta focusing on the concepts of Multi-Intelligence and Holistic Development techniques. A pictorial power point presentation enabled students to interact and grasp the concepts well.

Today was the third of the orientation programme which began with a session being conducted by Dr Jasmeet Kaur and Ms Ridhi Khanna. The students were given hands on experience on Power-Point Presentations. The post morning session was enjoyed a lot by the students as they were made to visit Sports Arena where they played various indoor games. The day was concluded with a movie titled “Chalk and Duster” which was screened for the freshers.
