Faculty Development Programme On ‘Integrative Approach Towards Current Practices In Food Product Development’

Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, FAHS inaugurated its 5-day Faculty Development Program on 29th April, 2021 in virtual mode.

There was a total of 114 participants who were actively involved during the sessions. Guest of honor, Dr. Chindi Vasudevappa, Vice-Chancellor NIFTEM made the audience ponder over the generation of food wastage especially in this pandemic situation and its effective utilization.

The sessions were moderated by Ms. Divya Puri (Assistant Professor, Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, FAHS).

The first session was delivered by Dr. Ashutosh Upadhyay, Professor, and Head at Department of Food Science & Technology, NIFTEM on ‘Introduction to New Product Development’. He amplified his views on the 5-stage model of new product development. And lastly, concluded that New Product Development is a key to business sustainability.

The second session was carried through by Dr. V.K Modi, Professor and Director at Amity Institute of Food Technology, Amity University, Noida. He articulated the strategies involved in NPD. The key take away from his talk was ‘Consumer acceptance is a key to success in NPD’. The sessions were followed by a Q&A round.

The program was culminated with a vote of thanks to all the eminent speakers who spared time to shower their cognizance and enthusiastic participants from all across the nation.
