Corporate Relations & Career Management Centre at Manav Rachna organized a Faculty Development Program on “Bloom’s Taxonomy” on February 16. Bloom’s Taxonomy was developed to provide a common language for teachers to discuss and exchange learning and assessment methods. The FDP had overwhelming participation from multiple genres of academics. Ms. Amrita Sachdeva, a corporate training expert, was the key speaker of the program. She efficaciously explained the concept of six cognitive level of thinking and how an educator can achieve the goal to encourage higher-order thought in their students by building up from lower-level cognitive skills using Bloom’s Taxonomy.
The program also sensitized faculties on the know-how of defining effective and measurable course and lesson objectives. This FDP has given a road map to the facultiesin developing the framework for organizing a continuum along an underlying structure.
