Expert Lecture on ‘Recent Trends in Technology – A Perspective’
Faculty of Computer Applications organized an expert lecture on ‘Recent Trends in Technology – A Perspective’ on May 3, 2019 to inaugurate the ACM student chapter. The guest speaker was Dr. Venktaswaran, Senior Vice President of IoT Solution at Persistent System Limited, Pune.
Dr. Venktaswaran explained the three pillars of mega trends – IoT, Data, AI / ML in industry. He explained the impact of Internet on our day to day life and used real life examples to express the role of software driving through our lives. He expressed his views on Data analytics and called this era as Digital Revolution.
He also showcased his current research on rail track investigation and many more. He advised the students to focus on the core courses and also discussed the “PIE” strategy for student’s professional life. He emphasized that the students should enhance the skills in one particular domain and learns all the technologies for that domain.
The cash prizes were also given to the winners of technical events of the clubs organized in the department of computer applications.
