The Students of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Applied Science, Manav Rachna International University organized a one day Cafeteria on 7th April, 2017 as a requirement of the course curriculum. The occasion was graced by honourable Vice Chancellor Dr. N.C. Wadhwa along with Dr. R.K. Arora (Registrar, MRIU) and Dr. Naresh Grover (Dean Academics) who inaugurated the cafeteria. Also, present on the occasion were Prof. G.L. Khanna (Dean, FAS), Dr. Pratibha Singh (HOD, Nutrition and Dietetics) and Dr. Pooja Anand (HOD, Physiotherapy).
The Students organized Desi Videsi cafeteria with dedication, enthusiasm, zeal and showcased their talents in the field of cooking, decoration, finance management, serving and many more arenas. The cooking committee from all the participating classes of M.Sc.-II, B.Sc.-VI and B.Sc.-IV presented all the dishes originated from India and other countries.
Overall, the Students learned the skills of team work, quantity food management, financial management, portion size control, management of resources, work simplification, menu planning, cost control and many more which are essential requisites for any career in Nutrition and Dietetics.
