Advance Android Development & Design Thinking Workshop at Google

Mr. Ankur Kumar Aggarwal and Ms. Veepu Uppal, faculty members of Computer Science & Technology Department, Manav Rachna University, attended Five days’ workshop (20-24 August 2018) on “Advance Android Development (AAD)”  & “Design Thinking” at Google Gurugram. Mr. Lalit Singh Manral, Training Specialist ASG, Google, was the trainer for AAD workshop. Ms. Leticia Britos Cavagaro, Co-Director and Adjunct Professor, Stanford University; Mr. Ghanshyam Shankar, India Manager, University Innovation Fellows Program, Hasso Plattner Institute of Design School of Engineering, Stanford University; Mr. Ashish Goel, Independent Product Designer, previously Head of Design, Zomato and Teaching Fellow, Stanford University; were the trainers for “Design Thinking” workshop.

The sessions of AAD workshop covered variety of Android topics broadly categorized as  how to expand the user experience; how to make apps fast and small; how to make app accessible; how to add geo features to apps; how to work with advance graphics & views; and how to manage architecture components of an app. The objective of DT workshop was to identify problems and find solution through five phases: Empathy, Define, Ideate, Prototype & Test. The overall workshop was very valuable and will help faculty members to train & guide students with better perspective.
