Vibrant Independence Day Celebration

Department of Students’ Welfare celebrated 73rd Independence Day – AAZADI’73 at the campus recently. The Independence Day celebration was a magnificent event for all the viewers of the event.  Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, VC, MRIIRS; Dr. N.C. Wadhwa, DG-MREI; Dr. M.K. Soni, PVC, MRIIRS;  Dr. Gurjeet Kaur Chawla- Associate Dean Students’ Welfare, MRIIRS; Dr. Shruti Vashisht -Dean Students’ Welfare, MRU; Ms. Yashika, Coordinator Students’ Welfare, MRIIRS with all the Chiefs and Vice Chiefs of the Four Clans, faculty members, students and other members of Manav Rachna Family graced the event with their presence.

The venue enfolded with enthusiasm and vibes of patriotic energy. The blessings of PVC, MRIIRS inspired the students to think out of the box. The event kick-started with a musical performance by Music Society of Manav Rachna which reminded everyone of the sacrifices of the Indian Army and our freedom fighters. The crowd was reverberating with the spirit of patriotism and a sense of national pride. A semi-classical performance was given by the classical group of Manav Rachna where they depicted different forms of dance.

The dance performance showcasing the negative impacts of social stigma such as rape was showcased beautifully by the Dance Society of Manav Rachna where the message was to eradicate this stigma from the society. The best of the show was an act on religious discrimination where the Theater Society of Manav Rachna engaged the audience with their dramatic emotions and storyline of ‘STOP THE CASTEISM IN THE COUNTRY’. This was followed by the singing performance of Ms. Priyanka Verma, faculty member of FCBS along with one of her students. There were all the elements to entertain and the celebration turned out to be a treat to the eyes and fuel to the patriotic soul. Another amazing performance was given by the Fashion Society of Manav Rachna showcasing the different social causes happening across the country with the motive of that “EVERYONE IN THIS COUNTRY IS EQUAL”. A combination of Live Art and Slogans left the audience in surprise. Finally, the show came to an end with the patriotic poem by Mr. Jitesh, student of FCBS and encouraging dance performance by the students of MRU.

All the performances made the crowd cheer and pour their heart out. The event ended with love and respect for the nation and left everyone proud to be a citizen of a brilliant country called INDIA. In respect to the nation, Team RESURRECTION stood together and saluted mother INDIA.

A Kite Flying activity was also organized under Manav Rachna Life Skills Programme to enliven the spirit of 21st century youngsters.
