Manav Rachna joins hands with Faridabad Police for Smart Policing as part of AAPKI SURAKSHA AAPKE SATH  to create an environment of safety, harmony and sense of responsibility in society

Manav Rachna has always aligned itself with social causes as part of its endeavour to work towards societal upliftment and carry forward the legacy of its Founder Visionary Dr O.P. Bhalla with a view to making a big difference through small incremental changes in society. In a unique mission that is likely to create an environment of safety, harmony and sense of responsibility in society with the basic theme of  AAPKI SURAKSHA AAPKE SATH, Manav Rachna is associating with Faridabad Police for upholding the concept of SMART POLICING under the Public Private Partnership model. As part of this initiative, Manav Rachna has taken on the onus of offering a MARUTI ERTIGA CAR (PCR-33) for the purpose of Joint Patrolling and to that effect will provide driver and security guard, GPS system, Fire extinguisher, First aid box and other accessories as required for safety purposes in the vehicle.  The Ertiga is also equipped with special features such as Winch ½ ton, Search light with stand, Fireman Axe, Folding Stretchers, hammer, chisel, dotted hand glovers, crowbar, barricading tape roll, fluorescent jackets and the like. Faridabad Police will provide a police personnel for the Patrolling mission.

      

The MARUTI ERTIGA CAR (PCR- 33) was flagged off by Dr. Hanif Qureshi, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Faridabad and Dr Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI on 22nd May, 2017 at the Manav Rachna campus for the purpose of joint patrolling within the radius of 2 km as part of the AAPKI SURAKSHA AAPKE SATH theme.

     

Deeply appreciative of Manav Rachna’s initiatives in joining hands with Faridabad Police, Dr Hanif Qureshi said, “With the Government initiating the Smart City concept and Faridabad figuring prominently in the scheme of things, we have introduced the Smart Policing mission in keeping with the need for good governance which is but a must to qualify for the same. We thank Manav Rachna for lending their support to AAPKI SURAKSHA AAPKE SATH mission as part of its conscientious move to help bring about safety and security not just in Manav Rachna but also its neighbourhood. “  He also urged the youth to join in the  ‘Youth Against Social Harassment’ initiative and be a part of the solution for which they can register as Yash Volunteer/Mentor by logging on to www.mahilapolicestation.in. It is noteworthy that as many as 5,000 students of Manav Rachna have already joined in the initiative. 

 Smt Astha Modi, IPS, DCP, NIT, Faridabad Police, also addressed the youth in this regard with a view to encouraging them to be a part of the effective woman safety programme and informed the gathering about the need to set up a Youth Council to enable active participation of the youth and other stakeholders. She also signed an MoU on behalf of Faridabad Police while Dr N.C. Wadhwa, VC, MRIU signed the MoU on behlf of Manav Rachna to ratify the handover of the Maruti Ertiga Car.

Addressing the gathering, Dr N.C. Wadhwa, said, “Manav Rachna has associated with this noble initiative as part of its community outreach activities to help combat and prevent anti-social behavior and urban crime rate. The new concept of Smart Policing will definitely go a long way in ensuring a peaceful Faridabad and enhance the safety and security of the region while providing adequate surveillance. We take immense pride in associating with Faridabad Police towards that end.
