Clan Water Sharks kick-started the “Smiles in your classroom” program on April 24 in coordination with the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Manav Rachna Dental College. This unique initiative was started with dental check-up and one-to-one counselling for Nutrition and Physiotherapy students at Faculty of Applied Sciences, MRIIRS. The students were provided opportunity for facilitated treatment at MRDC. Initial registration was completed on site, thereby reducing time from registration to meeting the treating doctor by almost one hour. They were also provided the opportunity for treatment at subsidized rates at MRDC.
A total of 84 students benefited from the program. These included 15 patients for orthodontic treatment for alignment of their teeth. The program was coordinated by Mr Pankaj Arora, Administrative Officer, FAS under the leadership of Dean, FAS and HoD, Nutrition and Dietetics and Physiotherapy. Dr Ankur Sharma from Department of Public Health Dentistry was present from Manav Rachna Dental College along with team of seven doctors for conduct of the program.
