FAS professor and Student represented Manav Rachna at ICAAAS-2018

Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Applied Sciences, MRIIRS was a speaker at ‘International conference on Agriculture, Allied and Applied Sciences’ with special reference to energy, environment and biotechnology research (ICAAAS-2018) at Jawaharlal Nehru University, recently. The conference was organized by BRICPL (Biologix Research &Innovation Centre Private Limited) in association with Indian Society of Genetics, Biotechnology Research & Development (ISGBRD); Biotechnology Society of Nepal (BSN) and Omnitrix Business Services Pvt. Ltd. The chief guest of the conference was Prof. A. K. Srivastava (Professor Emeritus), Ex-Pro Vice Chancellor, CCS University, Meerut (UP).

The prime objective of the conference was to provide a scientific forum for discussing the current developments in the Biotechnology research to address the much-needed areas of Energy, Environment and Healthcare sectors. The conference also provided a platform to the students/ scholars/ researchers/ scientists/ academicians to present their latest findings and learn about all the important developments the specified areas.

Mrs. delivered a lecture on ‘Nano -packaging’ and was felicitated with the momento for her excellence. She also co-chaired technical session-IV health care, microbial and allied sciences with Prof. Vijay Garg, Principal Scientist (Plant Breeding) & Head, Seed Technology Division, ICAR- Indian Grassland & Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi.

In the same conference, Mr. Mandeep Gulati, a student of M.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics (Sem-IV) participated as an oral speaker and was felicitated with a Best Paper Presentation Award for his commendable work on biodegradable packaging material a solution to social and environmental issues. The topic of his presentation was “Nanopackaging Material from Unripe Banana Flour and Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles”.

The conference was concluded by the encouraging words of Shri. Atul Kothari, National Secretary, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Govt. Of India.
