Faculty Development Program on Mentoring Students-Paving Way for Success

Mr. Ankit Jhamb, the guest speaker for the day presented his views on mentoring of students, for which he first gave us the picture of the current environment, a place filled with technology and gadgets all around and our young generation being stuck in 24×7 online activities.

He correctly put forward that anyone below the age of 30, is totally a digitalized generation person. He also stressed upon that organizations today don’t want to hire individuals with superfine technical knowhow of their stream, but also stress upon their behavioural attitude and mental wellbeing because someone with less technical skills can be trained in requisite knowledge in less time, but someone who doesn’t go well with people around cannot be changed, as asking someone to attain emotional maturity at the age of 35 is next to impossible as this is something which comes from within.

Mr. Jhamb accentuated that Judgements kill more innocent minds more than the actual failures.  So, it’s upon mentors to appreciate and uplift their students thought process and bring out best positivity in them, rather than forcing them into depression and negative thoughts by passing rude judgements.
