“Lipoprotein Metabolism” in the body
Under the firm belief of Founder Visionary Dr. O.P. Bhalla, Manav Rachna Research Innovation and Incubation Centre (MRIIC) is developed to encourage research, innovation and entrepreneurship to help the students to develop professional entrepreneurial ability and mindset to set up their own enterprises. It has been established with a view to cater to the needs of students and faculty members who are inclined towards research, innovation, and novel ideas.
Health Science and Nutrition Cluster under MRIIC is responsible for multidisciplinary and collaborative approach towards Nutrition, Health Promotion, Disease prevention, Therapeutic intervention and Rehabilitation. Cluster is also responsible for innovating and developing technologies and techniques for efficient and optimal delivery of Health care based on community needs.
For achieving mentioned goals, Nutrition and Health Science Cluster organized an expert Lecture on 31st March 2017 on the topic “Lipoprotein Metabolism” by Dr.Renuka Pathak, a renowned Biochemist retired Professor from Lady Irwin College, Delhi University. She has a vast experience in the field of biochemistry with specialization in instrumentation. She is known for her extensive research in the field of Genetics. She has more than two decades of teaching experience. She is currently working with FAS as a Professor.

She talked about lipoprotein being a biochemical assembly responsible for transporting hydrophobic lipid molecules in water, as in blood. She also mentioned the pathways involved in the metabolism of lipoproteins. She explained about the abetalipoproteinemia and other associated lipid disorders.
Dr. Vishal Dang, Head Cluster delivered a welcome address. The lecture was attended by FAS, Biotechnology and MRDC faculty Mrs. Gurjeet Kaur, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur, Dr.Shilpa, Dr. Shobhit, Dr. Poonam Gupta, Dr. Priti, Dr. Sheena, Dr. Shivani, Dr. Shakeela and MSc (N&D) and MDS students.
