MRIIRS Orientation Program for Engineering Students

‘He who plants a tree, plants a hope’

Students are like trees and when you nurture them with love, care and knowledge, they bear sweet fruits. With this hope, the first activity of the day began with a tree plantation drive by the freshers of MRIIRS. A session on “Communication for New Age” was planned for the students and was conducted by Mr. Amaan Abbas, former KPMG executive. Mr. Abbas emphasized on the need of experiential learning at the schools and universities. He said, “In this age ‘of doing’, we need to focus on skilling as this can only differentiate us from others in the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Mr. Abbas apprised the students of the concepts- Creative Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence. He opined originality, curiosity and deep thinking as the main elements of creative intelligence. Furthermore, he discussed the concepts of Social Media Marketing, Google and Facebook Campaigns, and Influencer Marketing.

Another session was conducted on Manav Rachna Sports Science Centre (MRSSC) by Ms. Shatrupa. She shared the various facilities available at MRSSC and acquainted the students with the areas where a sports science centre comes into the picture during the journey of an athlete. Sports Nutrition, Sports Psychology, Sports Psychological Skills Training, and Psychology Service Delivery were some of the things discussed during the session and how stduents can avail all these at MRSSC. It was a highly interactive session wherein our budding athletes shared their concerns.

‘Know Your Campus’ activity is the only way through which students get to know their campus. A treasure hunt activity was held under this and students were all thrilled to solve the riddles, participate in physical activities and much more.

The day concluded with the auditions of Performing Arts (Music) where students gave auditions to be a part of Manav Rachna Music Society.
