The MR-DT 2025 is divided into four parts with the following specifications:

1. Online Exam (Three Hours, No Negative Marking for Wrong Answers)

Part A: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Number of Questions: 25
  • Weightage: 50 Marks
  • Objective: Evaluate Design tools and methods, logical patterns and sequences, visual-spatial reasoning and geometry, and problem-solving ability.

Part B: Drawing/Skill-Based Questions

  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Number of Questions: 2
  • Weightage: 25 Marks
  • Objective: Tests observational skills, quick thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and visualisation.

2. Portfolio Presentation

Candidates showcase their achievements and previous design/any other work, demonstrating originality, technical skills, and creative thought processes.

3. Personal Interview

An individual interaction between the design mentors and the candidates to map their creative approaches, knowledge of design, and professional aspirations in the field of design.
